St. George Marathon & Trail Hero Weekend: October 2026 Guide
Race-day cheers downtown. Off-road adventures in the red rocks. Southern Utah is heading into a weekend with two very different ways to get outside and be part of the action.
The St. George Marathon takes place Saturday, October 3, 2026, while Trail Hero runs September 28–October 3. Whether you’re running, cheering, driving trails, or joining friends for the festivities, welcome to St. George!
St. George Marathon: Saturday, October 3
For runners, marathon weekend is the moment months of training become a day to remember. For families and spectators, it’s a chance to bring the signs, find your cheering spot, and celebrate someone’s hard work.
The official marathon calendar confirms October 3 as the 2026 race date. Before the weekend, review the organizer’s current packet pickup, race transportation, and spectator instructions. Save the details you’ll need on your phone and agree on a meeting place for after the finish.
Give yourself room in the schedule. A finish-line reunion, a relaxed meal, and a quiet afternoon can be just as much a part of the trip as the race itself. Runners should follow their race and medical team’s individual guidance.
Trail Hero: September 28–October 3
If your idea of a great Southern Utah weekend includes 4x4s, side-by-sides, and red-rock terrain, Trail Hero is on the calendar through Saturday, October 3.
The official 2026 schedule includes guided trail rides, rock-crawling events, vendor activities, and music festivities. On Friday, October 2, the vendor expo is scheduled for 3–7 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds, with ticketed music festivities that evening.
Trail Hero activities take place at multiple locations, so check the venue for each stop before leaving. A trail departure, a motorsports event, and an evening at the fairgrounds may have different access, registration, or ticket requirements. Keep the official schedule handy rather than assuming everything happens in one place.
Plan Your Weekend Before You Head Out
With both events happening in the area, it’s worth building a little flexibility into your plans:
Check directions and event updates. Review race-related access information and the location of each Trail Hero activity.
Pack for time outdoors. Check the forecast and bring water, sun protection, and layers suited to your plans.
Leave time between stops. Avoid scheduling every part of the day back-to-back.
Choose a meeting spot. Make it easy for your group to reconnect after a race, trail ride, or evening event.
Mobile IV Appointments During Your Stay
St. George IV welcomes the runners, trail crews, families, and fans visiting Southern Utah. Our registered nurses provide mobile IV appointments at homes, hotels, and Airbnbs in St. George and surrounding service areas.
If you’re interested in an appointment, browse our IV menu and call or text 435-357-1146 to discuss options and check availability. Treatment requires clinical screening and is not a substitute for event medical care.
However you’re spending the weekend, we hope you find time to enjoy the scenery, support your people, and experience what makes Southern Utah special.
